Imagine a day when you are not tightening to one workplace, at one office, to one desk… There’s going to be hubs around in town where you can access to work, collaborate with your teams, remotely or even group together on nearby areas, or even at your home office. This means that you can access to work quicker, at anytime of day as long as you are ready to. This is Teleworking, work from where you could generate best effort & efficiency toward the values you trust.

- Other work places : Home office / Coffee terrace / Open working space hubs / any place that is well equipped with internet and facilities supported to work, anywhere in town sufficient to your routine / schedule / meeting.

Planning to telework sometimes? Here are stuffs you might need to prepare upfront in order to achieve a smooth transition.
Advice process
Not only about you to take advice from others. It’s LOT about you to advise the people in concerns (be it your influent colleagues, team members, HR, ect…) of you being teleworking so that both ends can come to a contentment of what will take place with you teleworking. The purpose is to ensure visibility as well as support from others on your decision to telework
Visibility
Assume you are taking this advice process up, this is to help visualize the people in concerns of your plan coming to telework, so that every can contribute to the plan and support you better. Visibility is the answers to the following questions:
- When and how are you going to Telework (fulltime or part time or whatever the schedule)?
- How do you organize your availability and communication on / off the line?
- Will you be able to come out to the office on meeting or when needed?
- How do you manage delivery? Ensure productivity? Or KPIs if applicable?
… Any further questions that might be of interest by any one in concern. The purpose of clearing up these questions is to help everyone address tensions and get agree together on how it would be as resolutions. Taking these steps of having the advice from the people in concern and support them to visualize how it going to work for you the team, ensure productivity and commitment would help eliminate any possible risks and condition the teleworker a smooth transition
Good teleworking practices
You should ensure those good practices when teleworking :
- Be communicative and responsive, especially when you are not at your desk
- Online status that can talk: Be back at noon
- Ensure network redundancy. Wifi + 4G access point back up might help
- Ready to come out to office when needed
- Ready to switch locations in case of power shortage
- Understand that you may work around the clock to ensure productivity
- Multi communication channels (Hangout, slack, fb messenger, whatsapp,…) for a better availability
- Well-equipped for work: invest on PC, Laptop with a good configuration supportive to the work
